I've lived in England and Italy and traveled extensively in Europe while living abroad. At the time, I I had an interest in art and wine so much of the travel included museum stays and wine tasting. I especially loved the independent boutique wineries in the Chianti region. As my children got older, I was able to take more extensive trips to places such as Cambodia, Vietnam, Peru, Botswana, South Africa Zimbabwe and Morocco. If a safari is anything that you've thought of doing, I can only say it is a life changing event that is hard to capture unless you experience it. It is totally worth the difficult plane ride. Lately River Cruising is the buzz. I've been on four river cruises and highly recommend it for the ease of travel, the level of service and quality of the experience.
My favorite trip was an Adventure by Disney family vacation to Sedona, the Grand Canyon and Moab. There were 17 of us and we found adventure for all ages. Highlights included a helicopter ride with our Grandpa, white water rafting on the Colorado river and roasting marshmallows under a star lit sky. It was a trip that afforded us great family time as well as enjoying new experiences that we still talk about 8 years later!
