Wellness for Winter
Wellness for Winter
The holiday season is over, Valentine's Day behind us, and February break means vacations for some, but winter isn't quite over yet! Spring equinox is March 19, 2020 and we still have some winter weather to battle before it gets here.
We have helpful tips to stay well during this last stretch of winter!
- Keep sickness at bay
- Wash your hands often, rub your hands together for at least 20 seconds.
- Get your regular check-ups and vaccinations.
- Cough or sneeze into your upper sleeve or elbow.
- Stay hydrated
- Drinking your recommended eight glasses of water a day aids in fighting off sickness.
- Stay warm
- Cold temperatures can lead to health concerns, especially for infants and older adults, stay dry and dress warmly in the colder temperatures.
- Keep stress low
- Don’t forget to balance work, home and fun.
- Get support from family and friends.
- Get plenty of sleep.
- Be active
- Winter hibernation may affect our ability to be outside, but you don't have to plan long exercise sessions! Adults should aim for 2.5 hours of physical activity every week.
- Kids should remain active for at least an hour daily.
- Take a vacation
- It's been proven that people are happier with they plan for a vacation! Not only are they more likely to actually take their well-deserved time off, they're happier in many aspects of their life including personal relationships and work!
Perhaps a staycation at a local spa sounds enticing, a fun day with friends, or a family outing to the zoo! All of these ideas can help keep stress low, keep you active and all around happier! AAA Discounts is your resource for discounts on such outings (and more)!
