AAA Announces New Human Resources Business Partner
Angela Gunther has joined AAA Western and Central New York as a Human Resources Business Partner. From AAA’s Amherst headquarters, Gunther will oversee associate and labor relations for AAA Automotive Operations, Dispatch, Driving Academy, External Automotive Operations, Member Relations, Property Management, the Member Contact Center, and Travel Services Center in Western and Central New York.
Gunther is a graduate of West Virginia University and St. Bonaventure University. Her background includes extensive HR background within the WNY region, having spent time in the healthcare, shared services, and transportation industries.
“I love what AAA stands for, I love the organization’s legacy and I know that AAA is a true supporter of its community and people in general,” Gunther said. “I’m really excited to be here. It’s clear that this is a very, very good company with great people, and it’s everything I’ve ever wanted to be a part of.”
Gunther’s background includes more than nine years with Roswell Park Cancer Institute, where she worked in HR and recruitment, bringing in healthcare professionals from all over the world. Then, she spent the last two and a half years focused on mid and executive level recruitment with AP Professionals of WNY before joining AAA and returning to her passion as an HR business partner.
The new opportunity at AAA was the ideal next step in her career. “I haven’t been in a traditional HR role for a few years, and I’m excited to see how things have changed in the field and maybe where they could still change,” she explained. “I’m also really looking forward to learning from AAA’s impressive HR team, since they have done such incredible work within this organization already!”
A native of Olean, N.Y., Gunther now calls Amherst, N.Y. home. Coming from a big sports family, one of Gunther’s favorite pastimes is attending sporting events with her husband Kevin, her two teenage boys, and her teenage daughter. In addition to rooting for the Buffalo Bills and the St. Joe’s Marauders football and basketball teams, Gunther loves to travel and read while relaxing at Cuba Lake in the summer.
