AAA expert’s guide to packing your bags
Taking a trip soon? Follow our bag packing expert’s tips to make sure all your items are available, organized, and ready so you can enjoy a worry-free getaway!
- Make a list of all the things you need and lay items out.
- Fold and roll items to save the most space in a suitcase.
- Place rolled items into packing cubes to strategically pack items.
- Organize packing cubes as you see fit. Keep outfits separate, or pack by outfit or items.
- Now you have extra space in your day bag for items you want on hand, like a sweatshirt, poncho, travel journal, and hair supplies.
- Pack liquid items into a 3-1-1 bag for an easier experience with TSA at the airport. “3-1-1” is the TSA rule for bringing liquids on board a plane. Each passenger may carry liquids, gels and aerosols in travel-size containers that are 3.4 ounces or 100 milliliters. Each passenger is limited to one quart-size bag of liquids, gels and aerosols.
PRO TIPS:
- Leave the hairdryer at home. Most hotel rooms have hair dryers.
- Find your luggage faster when checking your bags with unique, colorful tags.
